When Charleston street crews painted bike lanes too narrow to be safe, they called the stripes "bike guides." We jumped in, fearing that cyclists would try to ride INSIDE THE LINES and sooner or later, someone would get "doored." We pleaded for sharrows that would show everyone that cyclists actually belonged out in the lanes of traffic, and very recently, the sharrows were added. Here's a bike-ride glimpse..
